So this was a really good week for me. I loved it. We found lots of new families. We found this one family last Sunday afternoon. They are the most prepared family i have ever met in my whole mission, well my whole life. They are awesome, I love them. The husbands name is Omar, the wife is Delny, and they have a 2 year old kid named Diego. They are like 25, a young couple. They have been married like 3 years. Its weird, but they remind me of all of my brothers and sister in laws. They are a young nice couple and they have a 2 year old kid just like almost all of you. They are rich here. But they have a nice little apartment. My companion contacted them last week when i wasn't here. He said to come back when his wife was home. So we went last Sunday afternoon. We just taught them about what we do and our purpose. For all the rm`s we did the how to begin teaching from preach my gospel. Anyway, it went great. He asked us a super deep good question. I love questions!! He asked, why is it important for someone to go to a specific church when he can read the bible and pray and be a good person at home. I told him that was a great question, then explained the sacrament. And that in order for us to repent fully we need to partake of the sacrament and also to have the spirit with us. He was content with the answer. Then his wife asked why we don`t drink coffee. The husband said that his cousins explained it to him and so he started explaining to his wife why we don't drink coffee. He amazed me. I was sitting there in awe. He told her that there is a scripture in bible that says that are body`s are temples and so we have to take care of are body`s because they are temples and that is why we cannot drink coffee. Then we asked for assurance, like it is something like that right. We told him that he got it right one. I was really amazed. I am happy for those cousins of his that have shared the gospel with him. They have really prepared them. Well god really prepared them but they helped god prepare them. So we came back a couple days later but they had company so we left. Then we came back the next day. They said where were you we were waiting for you. They wanted us to come and were waiting for us. Apparently right after we left, there company left and because they told them that we were going to come. But ya. They said when we left after the first visit that they both felt something really good in their heart. A feeling that they could not explain. And they want to feel that feeling more in their life. It was like a preach my gospel video of the district where everything just goes perfectly and the people always say the best things. It was awesome. It made me so happy just to know that god has been preparing these people. The only thing that is not good is that they work on Sunday. They both work in the mall, and the weekend is the most busiest time of the week so they work all weekend long. So they did not go to church yesterday. I hope they can figure something out though. Because they really want to go to church. When they told us they were not going to be able to go they were really upset. But they said they will ask for permission to go next week. So i hope that works out. We will see what happens. I am excited though.
This other lady we have been teaching went to church yesterday, so that was cool. She just came to Sacrament meeting. She liked it though. She has like 4 kids. But they are all big now, their like 20 to 30. So just she comes. The kids don't `t want to. But she says that she has been praying and that she has received and answer that the church is true. So that is awesome. I hope that everything turns out well.
Oh so we were supposed to have a baptism this Saturday. It didn`t happen. A little problem came up. So she was living with her boyfriend a couple of months ago before i got here. But the elders taught here about the law a chastity and told her that they had to get married or separate. And so they separated. So that is why she was going to be baptized because she could do it now. Then on Wednesday before the baptism we showed up and saw the boyfriend there. They got back together and now are living together again. So she could not get baptized for that. They say they want to get married. That is good but he is from El Salvador and doesn't have papers here so they cant get married. She is discouraged now and doesn't know what to do. She didn t show up at church yesterday. So I hope everything turns out well. But it will be a while before she gets baptized.
Well I got to go now, It has been a hour. So have a good week everybody. I love all of you. Thanks for all your support. Happy Birthday 80Th Grandpa Gardner.
Love, Elder Gardner
